The announcement underlines TCL’s plans to introduce several smart entertainment options from the Indian market to fulfill the evolved entertainment sensibilities of the expanding young consumer foundation, the business said in a statement.
The company is aiming to interrupt the superior home entertainment segment by introducing India’s first Google-certified Android QLED TV on Amazon.in.
“Our partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government and the institution of our Tirupati production unit would allow us to supply Indian customers with innovative smart TVs driven by the latest cutting-edge QLED and AI technology,” Mike Chen, Country Manager-TCL India, said in a statement.
The announcement also marks the company’s long-term vision of developing localized capabilities in order to better cater to the rising market demand for home entertainment solutions across the nation.
The Tirupati unit would allow TCL to actively contribute to the”Create in India” initiative by generating substantial employment opportunities for the nation’s young workforce.
The firm has also tied up with large offline electronics retailers like Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay Revenue, as well as major regional channel partners to build a strong, pan-India sales and distribution station.
