HMD Global has established a lot of Nokia-branded smartphones in the previous couple of years. While there have been several premium-looking handsets like the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia lovers are still waiting for a really top-end flagship. Meanwhile, the reports of an approaching Nokia 9 PureView smartphone have been churning out of the rumour mills for quite a while now. Now, a new leak has hinted at some of the features that we can anticipate in the handset. According to the latest report, the alleged Nokia 9 PureView has been codenamed’Olympic’ and was seen running Android 9 Pie.
The long-anticipated Nokia 9 using its rumoured Penta-lens camera setup has been expected to become HMD Global’s rumoured flagship for 2018 despite being postponed on multiple occasions. But a prior report had promised that the smartphone might not be unveiled this season at all and rather launch at MWC 2019 first next season. Several reports from the past have indicated that the smartphone could be known as Nokia 9 PureView, especially after HMD International acquired the trademark out of Microsoft in August. As per a report from LoveNokia, the upcoming Nokia 9 PureView conveys the codename’Olympic; also conducts the latest Android Pie with the most-recent November security patch.
The Nokia 9 PureView is expected to come with a Penta-camera installation and house an in-display fingerprint sensor. The report asserts that the ex-employees who were also a part of the imaging division of Nokia, are now a part of HMD Global’s team. The most recent piece of data was spotted from the servers of FIH Mobile, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Foxconn, which manufactures electronics for a number of businesses.
In accordance with the report, the metadata obtained from the FIH server, Nokia 9 PureView runs Android 9 Pie with build number 00CN_4_030 and November security limitation. LoveNokia notes that the smartphone they spotted is a test apparatus of the Chinese model, rather than the final retail variation. This is in line with previous reports that suggested that the Nokia 9 PureView comes with five cameras in the back.
Meanwhile, the tipster’Nokia anew’ has released a tweet bringing to light an inner decision within HMD International. According to the tweet, the business has suggested that fresh Nokia 9 PureView could start a new collection of PureView tablets.
