Google Assistant Gets the Ability to Book Cabs From Uber, Ola, and MoreUsers will now be able to inquire Assistant, Google’s digital helper, to book cabs in their Android phones, iPhone, Google Home, or some other Google Assistant-enabled smart speaker. Aside from the capability to book cabs, Assistant may even show you wait times and pricing for each operator that will assist you make the decision without needing to get into the respective apps.
The Mountain View, California-based tech giant has curated numerous popular ride-hailing operators across the planet, no matter how the entire list hasn’t been released yet. Back in India, the spouses include Uber, Ola, and Meru. To prompt this new activity, you’ll have to state”Hey Google, publication me a ride to [favorite place ]” prompting a list of alternatives. Alternatively, to choose ride choices from one provider like Ola, users can say”Hey Google, get me an Ola trip to Gateway of India.”

Once done, choose the preferred cab-hailing supplier from the smartphone and the program will open to let you confirm the booking. This attribute is rolling out in English first, and certainly will be expanded to additional languages in the future. “If you’re in a hurry and your hands are all tied up, you will now be able to use this Assistant to observe all of your favorite ride services at 1 place and pick the one that works best for you,” said Vishal Dutta, Product Manager, Google.

Prior to this upgrade, Google Assistant will open up Google Maps when prompted for cab details. The update lets it show details such as wait times and fare pricing directly on the digital assistant itself.

Earlier this week, the Google Assistant program on Android has been redesigned to provide larger visuals which are comfortable to look atnew controls and sliders for handling smart home gadgets, and a brand new interactive messaging interface, among other updates.
