Amazon Drops Tanmay Bhat, Keeps Kanan Gill to Get Comicstaan Season 2 Over #MeToo Concerns

Amazon Drops Tanmay Bhat, Keeps Kanan Gill for Comicstaan Season 2 Over #MeToo ConcernsTanmay Bhat Won’t be a part of Comicstaan 2, Amazon told Gadgets 360 at a statement, Although Kanan Gill will remain a part of the Series.
“However, we’ll continue working with Kanan Gill.” The two Bhat and Gill served as mentors and judges on the very first season of the reality comedy hunt collection. They had been two of the largest names on Comicstaan, which likewise included Sapan Verma, Kenny Sebastian, and Biswa Kalyan Rath among others.
Back in October, Gill was accused of inappropriate behaviour by several ladies. Bhat was ousted from All India Bakchod, the sketch comedy group he co-founded, over allegations of inaction over sexual harassment. His fellow co-founder, Gursimran Khamba, was set”on a temporary leave of absence” till AIB could properly look into the allegations made against him.

Khamba, too, has a job in the works at Amazon called Gormint, a political satire that was earlier called The Ministry. Amazon stated that Khamba is now not working on the series pending a complete evaluation, and its fate has yet to be decided. A spokesperson mentioned the amount of the investigation and also the involvement of the team as grounds for the delay in issuing a public response.

Not everybody was so particular with their own decisions. Hours after AIB said it was disassociating itself in Bhat and Khamba, Hotstar announced that it had cancelled the then-ongoing third period of On Air with AIB with”immediate effect”. The Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), the organising body of the Mumbai Film Festival, axed a feature movie named Chintu Ka Birthday from its lineup later the same day, as it was made by AIB.
